Alsace
An area steep in culture and history bordering a national park and the beautiful Vosges mountains. Dotted with picture-perfect villages and more than enough golden vineyards to satisfy any wine connoisseur.
Should you require a dose of bright lights seek sanctuary in nearby Strasbourg or Colmar. Add some WW2 history to your journey with a visit to the little known Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp at the northern end of the wine route.
Champagne
Home to Moët & Chandon and many other famous houses. Whilst in Epernay ensure you do the Mercier wine tour of the tunnels beneath the vineyard. We were quite surprised at how many great champagnes were available that do not export (looking at you Collard-Picard).
